My Little Indoor Herb Experiment

I ordered the Italian Herb Garden Kit pictured at the bottom of this post from Amazon just the other day before the two big snow storms came in,  and it was delivered to my front door yesterday. Fast delivery despite all 8+ inches of snow. Anyway, this little set of olive green ceramic pots with matching tray is darling. The pots themselves are small because they were made to sit on the windowsil, but with all three sitting in the tray, it is quite lovely. Soil pellets and three different kinds of herb seeds came with the kit. I needed to add a bit more organic soil and could hardly see the tiny Oregano seeds, but it was very labor nonintensive. I recycled my old fudgsicle sticks and used them as markers, and I covered my little pots with recycled plastic sandwich bags. I figure that if the seeds don't germinate, I can always plant herbs from the local nusery in them. I sowed the Sweet Basil, Chives, and Greek Oregano seeds that came with the kit. I have never tried growing herbs indoors, so this is an experiment for me. I actually have a green thumb, so I feel confident that I will just love this little set.

Hmm, I didn't mean for this to be a review of a product, but it sure sounds like one, so okay, I give this 5 stars. Lol!

Here is how it looks with some of my plants for now...

And here is a close-up...

Can't wait to see how the seeds do.

Oh yeah!  I took the photos with my daughters new Nikon D60 DSLR super cool, very expensive camera.  Ummm, I see many photos in the near future!!!  I'm in love with her camera.
